Comic strip submission guidelines for krazybov comics

Calling for strips to be submitted for issue six

Quick submission guide list

Make sure your comic strip is:

  1. Professional quality
  2. Black and White
  3. Complete and ready for print

Then:

  1. Send your lo-res (72dpi) strip to bov [at] krazybov [dot] com
  2. Wait for a reply from me
  3. If approved send in your hi-res (300dpi) strip along with signed declaration
  4. Sit back and bask in the glory of newfound fame

All contributors will receive a copy of the anthology. At the moment I am unable to offer any kind of payment for your strips.

Quite frankly I will be flabbergasted if I can get this mag to break even. So if I manage to make any money from this krazy scheme then it's getting ploughed straight into my vacuous pockets where it's to be spent on girls and beer.

Now the technical bit

The comic is ashcan (digest or A5) in size and will be printed at 300dpi with a 3mm bleed. In other words each page needs to be 1748 x 2480 pixies, otherwise the detail will be rubbish.

Final artwork requirements

  1. A5 at 300dpi (1748 x 2480px)
  2. Black and white
  3. Flattened
  4. Accompanied by a declaration signed by everyone involved

I like to keep things simple.

If you want to make money selling tshirts, mousemats, baseball caps or whatever related to your comic. Go for it.

All I want to do is print it.

You want to keep all ownership rights so you can turn it into a movie, a computer game or anything else you can think of. No problem.

All I want to do is print it.

I don't care if I'm not the first to print it and I dont want to be the last to print it.

I just want to print the fucker.

You will NOT need to hire a lawyer to wade through pages of bullshit just so you can submit your comic.

You will NOT need to register on any website before being allowed to submit your strip.

You will NEVER need to pay for your story to get printed, this is NOT a competition o_o

Krazybov comics consists of just one person, me. So every submission has to get approved by me. All I ask is that you put in the effort to submit professional quality work and your story will get in. I'm looking for strips of any genre and any length, be it three panels or four hundred pages. Your story must be in black and white.

I only accept comics that are ready for print. This doesn't mean your story needs to have an end, cliffhangers are welcome. I just don't want writers looking for artists or vice-versa. This is not a dating agency. If you need help on your project you could try the forums at Penciljack or UggA bUggA. Both are very friendly and full of ultra talented peeps.

Your strip will also appear on this site. Once all copies have been given away (remember this is a free comic) then your strip will appear here in full. Before then it will have a teaser page. Have a look at the latest issue to see what I mean.

Send all submissions to bov [at] krazybov [dot] com at 72dpi. Every submission will get a reply from me whether approved or not. If your submission gets accepted then I will ask you to send it again at a higher resolution along with a signed declaration from everybody inlolved in the project. It's just a statement to verify that you are the creator and owner of the characters and that the story is original.
